The AquaFuelSystem
As fuel is becoming more and more expensive, people are searching for alternatives to reduce their fuel consumption. The AquaFuelSystem is a way to improve the current generation of combustion engines. It is done by applying the technology of burning fuel more efficiently by adding a hydrogen enriched air mixture. This can result in a fuel consumption drop up to 30% and will also reduce the emissions.
But the current unit still has some limitations:
It develops a constant amount of hydrogen and the production is limited to 5L, the casing where the system is built in is not in order with the international safety standards and the used filter is not optimized for the process.
Our thesis project will be done in two stages.
First we will redevelop the current unit to make a higher production possible and make sure it fits in a certified international casing.
In a second phase we will make variable HHO production possible, depending on the different parameters of the engine. This way we will try to raise the efficiency.

Is this generating the hydrogen in the car? Or is this used to generate the hydrogen at home and fill a tank with the hydrogen?
Yes, this system generates the hydrogen in the car, vehicle or machine. The generated hydrogen is not stored in the system, but is directly used at the air inlet of the combustion engine.
Where does the energy needed for the creation of hedrogen come from then?
The system works on 24VDC (15A).This can be a battery in for example a car or a boat, or in some cases a 24VDC line that is already available.
Does it mean, that the aquafuelsystem has to develop a non-constant amount of hydrogen to get an higher efficiency?
Yes, this is the purpose of our thesis. The amount of hydrogen that is needed, is dependent on a few engine parameters. The current system develops a constant amount of hydrogen, so there is still a lot of room for improvement!
If it uses the car battery that is charged by the engine, how can this increase the fuel efficiency? Every energy conversion has some losses, so how can the result be positive?
What you say is true, every energy conversion has some losses.
But: As you probably know a combustion engine is a very inefficient engine. This means there is energy loss because of incomplete combustion. Our systems changes a lot of these energy losses into useful energy by adding a catalyst.
Tests prove that if used in a car the system can result in a reduction of the fuel consumption of up to 30 percent.
