A world record by choreographed quadrotors

The AscTec Hummingbird a quadrotor specially designed for aggressive and fast flying manoeuvres. Due to the flexibility in the propellers, harder landings are possible.

A world record is created by the use of 49 AscTec Hummingbird quadrotors in Austria. Electronica Futurelab and Acsending technologies  choreographed those quadrotors for a visual display to lit up the Austrian town of Linz.

This diplay was a part of an art festival consulting of quadrotors with pulsating LED-lights.

It looks amazing. And how do they can avoid hitting each others in the sky?

The quadrotors are computer controlled. This is actually that makes them unique, the programming is done in such a way, by the use of a feedback system, that they can not hit each other.
